Patients and family members visiting loved ones in most healthcare facilities in the South West will now have access to complimentary Wi-Fi.

South West Hospital and Health Service Chief Executive Linda Patat said the new service would help patients feel better connected during their time in hospital.

“Introducing Wi-Fi is a critical step forward to delivering on our strategic goal of investing in technology that supports innovation and personalised care,” she said.

“It is one of the core levers to address health disparities experienced by our communities when it comes to access, health literacy and delivering patient driven care.

“When spending time in our free Wi-Fi enabled facilities you can instantly connect via your smart device to your friends and family, entertainment or do everyday things like pay bills or catch-up on work.
